AFTER completing two more events in the season long Lancashire and Lakes Spoco competition, Lancashire Road Club riders have moved into third place overall in the team classification.
Some of the club's newer riders joined the more familiar faces in the 27-mile 'Circuit Of Ingleborough and once again, Craig Battersby was the club's fastest rider, finishing second overall in a time of 1:4:46, beating Paul Shalliker by nearly two minutes.
Paul's 1:6:34 gave him sixth place overall. Craig and Paul were ably backed by Gareth Williams (1:19:17) and Graham Hall (1:27:07).
Remarkably, Craig and Paul were second and sixth again on Sunday in the shorter 19-mile event promoted by Ribble Valley CRC.
Craig was narrowly beaten by four seconds, again beating Paul by nearly two minutes, their times being 45:51 and 47:09 respectively.
Glen Kenyon and Tony Lowe were separated by less than one minute with times of 51:34 and 52:00 respectively while Graham Hall turned in a fine time of 1:00:16 to retain his position of first Vet over 60.
LRC were narrowly beaten for the team award by Blackburn and District CTC.
