THE number of Bolton households with a second car has soared 37 per cent in the past decade as vehicle-ownership hit record levels.
There are 47,303 households with one car and 28,039 with two or more. A total of 32,743 households did not have a car in 2001.
The statistics, taken from the 2001 and 1991 Census of Population, mirror the national trend.
