MORE than one hundred people took part in a lantern procession on The Oldhams Estate in Sharples.
The night-time walk around the estate was organised as part of a project for residents to decide what they want to do with Tip Park, a spare piece of land.
Local musicians Pulse joined the procession, which was held after a range of activities to generate ideas, concerns and visions for the space.
Children and parents made more than 60 lanterns for the procession at workshops organised by the Oldhams Residents' Association and the Action Factory Community Arts Group.
Oldhams Estate community housing manager for Bolton at Home Shaun Clydesdale said: "The event was great, lots of local residents turned-out enticed by great music from Samba band Pulse and the atmosphere was really vibrant."
He added: "The afternoon's activities were very well attended and feedback from residents was very positive. There were lots of ideas from residents as to how they would like to see Tip Park improved, whilst remaining a 'green space,' which was the general aim of the day as well as having lots of fun''.
The association is looking for new members to join -- for more information contact 01204 335619.
