CLUB or country? Which is the real heartbeat of football?
The age old debate sparked up again this week as England's double header against Liechtenstein and Turkey approached.
Rio Ferdinand, Gareth Southgate and David Beckham say international football is bigger.
Alan Shearer, Tony Adams and Roy Keane put club before country to prolong their careers.
But where do the fans stand? Do you get a bigger buzz from seeing England or your club side win?
Club football gets my vote and I reckon that's the case with most people who watch their football from inside the stadium week in week out.
If you had taken a poll of Wanderers fans before Monday night's game against Spurs I'm sure the vast majority would have wanted Bolton to win that game more than they wanted England to beat Liechtenstein on Saturday.
I agree with Arsene Wenger when he says England is the best promotion for league football which is the same as calling international football the marketing department and club football the company.
The fans should be able to have their say on this matter because the whole structure of club and international football is about to change.
The days are numbered when hundreds of players across Europe, like Patrick Vieira, have to play 62 games in a season before going off to a World Cup.
There are either going to be fewer international games or fewer club matches. The clubs hold the power and they will get what they want which is not good for the future of England.
