THANK you for your excellent coverage of the protest by residents of The Haulgh, Bolton, over telephone boxes that we believe are being used to operate drug deals and prostitution near our homes .
Residents have been forced to act in this way because BT have systematically ignored the issue for over seven years. Has it ever struck them as odd that a row of four telephone boxes, situated near a red light light area, is highly profitable and never vandalised?
On their website BT say they have "a major programme of investment to improve the quality of life and well being of the communities in which we operate". Presumably the money they make from the Bromwich Street boxes helps to finance this programme.
Could we not invite a representative of BT to the Haulgh to receive a Certificate of Conspicuous Hypocrisy.
