SATURDAY: NO game for Wanderers but West Ham's predictable home victory over Sunderland means they drop into the bottom three.
Birmingham rub salt into the Reebok wounds, beating West Brom in the Midlands derby with a Geoff Horsfield goal - four minutes into overtime! Gudni Bergsson says his five and a half year absence from international football has extended his career with Wanderers.
MONDAY
THE wheel of fortune turns with Jay-Jay Okocha converting a penalty with virtually the last kick of the game as Wanderers boost their survival hopes, big style, with a well-deserved 1-0 victory over Spurs at the Reebok. Having conceded late goals to drop precious points on four occasions this season, the victory is all the sweeter.
TUESDAY
SAM Allardyce sends a chilling warning to his closest footballing pals, Birmingham boss Steve Bruce and Leeds' new caretaker manager Peter Reid, that he is breathing down their necks in the race for Premiership survival. He also acknowledges Florent Laville as the key to Wanderers' recent defensive improvement. Okocha finally confirms his return to the international fold when he jets out to join the Nigeria squad for their African Nations Cup qualifier in Malawi. Ricardo Gardner pulls out of Jamaica's squad for the three-match final qualifying round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup to receive treatment on a hamstring injury but Jermain Johnson joins the Reggae Boyz. Bergsson, Jussi Jaaskelainen, Kevin Nolan and Bernard Mendy are also away on international duty.
WEDNESDAY
YOURI Djorkaeff says Wanderers have the edge on their rivals in terms of quality and experience and a greater willingness to fight. He is confident they will survive. Paul Warhurst's Reebok days are numbered after he confirms that he will be allowed to go out on loan. The BEN's "Keep the Whites Up" campaign gets a boost with Allardyce, Okocha and Djorkaeff paying tribute to the Reebok fans.
THURSDAY
ALLARDYCE gives his players a vote of confidence, allowing them to call the shots in the seven-match run-in. "They are big enough to want to play the game they know they can play," he says. "Who am I to try and stop them?" Warhurst joins Stoke on loan for the rest of the season. Ex-Wanderer Dean Holdsworth joins Rushden and Diamonds for the rest of the season after cancelling his contract at Coventry. Mike Whitlow takes a confident step along the comeback trail when he comes through a 45 minute runout in the reserves' 3-1 defeat at Sunderland. Nicky Hunt plays the full 90 minutes, three weeks after fearing a dislocated shoulder had ruled him out for the season.
FRIDAY
OKOCHA says Ivan Campo has found his best position after switching from centre-back to midfield.
