A 28-YEAR-old man was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment after pleading guilty to taking a car.
Thomas West, of Daisy Street, Bolton, appeared at Bolton magistrates court charged with a number of motoring offences, including taking a Ford Escort without the owner's consent, using a vehicle without insurance and driving while disqualified.
He was also charged with failing to pay £20 for petrol at a petrol station. He pleaded guilty to all charges.
A passenger, Ryan Hilton, aged 19, of Blackledge Lane, Bolton, was also charged with failure to pay for the petrol and travelling in a stolen car. He was granted bail and will reappear in court on Thursday.
