BOLTON Harriers ace Tom Lancashire helped Great Britain finish third best European nation at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.
With all four teenagers making their debut, they finished 13th in the junior men's 8km race, with runners from Africa taking the first 20 individual spots.
Lancashire was third best within the team, finishing 76th in 26mins 44seconds, but claimed he could have finished higher in more favourable conditions.
"It was so dry, I couldn't get enough air," he said.
"I've never competed in conditions like that. I was pushing myself as hard as I could."
"I wanted to make sure I did a good sprint finish at least. I got a second wind on the straight."
