STIG Tofting is ready to serve the four-month prison sentence he received last October following his conviction for assault.
Wanderers' Denmark international has decided not to pursue his appeal against the conviction and is expected to start his sentence within the next 30 days.
He is likely to serve between two and a half and three months for assaulting two restaurant workers on a night out in Copenhagen following last summer's World Cup.
The 33-year-old, who joined Wanderers in a £250,000 transfer from SV Hamburg 13 months ago, returned to Denmark last week to spend time with his wife and family ahead of his April 10 court appearance. But his lawyer, Anders Nemeth, announced on Monday day that his client was now prepared to accept the sentence.
Tofting, whose shortened Reebok contract expires this summer, has effectively played his last game for Wanderers but club bosses are awaiting official notification from his lawyers before making any decision on his future.
A club spokesman said: "We are making no comment until we get further clarification."
