A COMPUTER operator who kept diaries listing his abuse of young boys has been convicted of a string of sexual assaults.
Michael Staszkiw, aged 45, of Bury New Road, Prestwich, subjected victims as young as six to two decades of abuse after gaining the trust of their families, buying them presents and taking them on holiday.
At Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court Staszkiw was convicted of three counts of rape, one serious sex offence and 12 charges of indecent assault.
Staszkiw had denied the charges, calling his three victims liars and forcing them to relive their ordeal in a harrowing two week trial.
The court had heard how the abuse had occurred between 1980 and 2001.
Staszkiw will be sentenced on May 9 after Judge Adrian Smith ordered pre-sentence reports.
