NEARLY 2,000 representations have been made to the Government over setting up a regional assembly for the North-west, it has emerged.
The figure represents nearly half of the 5,000 responses received on plans for devolved government.
A "sounding exercise" is being held to assess interest in holding a referendum on establishing a regional assembly.
