LEIGH RMI ladies beat Manchester Stingers 7-5, but were given a late shock after losing a four goal lead.
Sumner scored three times in the high-scoring game, but despite being 6-2 up at one point they were pegged back to 6-5 towards the end.
Sumner had opened the scoring with Joanne Wood and Rebecca Dennard making it 3-0, but by half-time it was 3-1. Sumner completed her hat-trick, with a further goal from Dennard, to make it 6-2 before Manchester's comeback, which saw three goals in ten minutes.
With the game poised skipper Sarah Alldred hit a superb 25-yard free kick to settle the result.
