THE "will he, won't he?" debate rages on but Gudni Bergsson underlined his determination to press ahead with his retirement plans when he said his farewells to Wanderers' fans on Wednesday night.
The 37-year-old Reebok skipper has insisted all along that this will be his last season before he returns to his native Iceland to kick off a new career in the law. He told fans he was "flattered" by assistant manager Phil Brown's views here on Wednesday that he would be crazy to quit while at the top of his form but made it clear his decision to end his playing days still stands.
Brown joined many of the Bolton players and backroom staff who joined the Bolton Wanderers Supporters Association in paying tribute to the former Spurs defender, who made his debut for Wanderers as substitute in the 1995 Coca-Cola Cup Final and has become one of the most respected centre-backs in the Premiership.
