A CAMPAIGN to provide emergency relief to civilians in war-torn Iraq is being launched in Bolton this weekend.
The charity Human Appeal international is hosting a dinner at the New Pack Horse Hotel in Bradshawgate at 6.30pm on Saturday. Among the guest speakers will be Dr Brian Iddon, MP for Bolton South-east; Moin Shubib, executive director of Human Appeal; Moulana Rashid from the Zacharia Mosque; and the Rev Michael Williams, vicar of Bolton.
Tickets cost £15 and the night will include a presentation on the humanitarian crisis in Iraq.
A spokesman said: "People in Iraq are in urgent need of food, shelter and medicine because two wars and 12 years of genocidal sanctions have already devastated the population."
