ANTI-social behaviour in Adlington has been "considerably reduced" following work between the local authority and residents, it has been claimed.
Chorley Council teamed up with the Residents' and Tenants' Association of Windsor Avenue to help make the area safer.
For the past 18 months the partnership has negotiated extra money for environmental work and clamped down on anti-social behaviour.
To ensure the problem continues to spiral downwards, an Estate Agreement has been put in place, allowing residents to have a greater say in how their area is run.
This is the first of its kind in Chorley. The council's executive member for community development, Cllr Cath Hoyle, said: "We believe this is a significant leap forward in the progress of community involvement in the provision of council services."
