FOLLOWING constant pressure Blackrod took the lead with a Sam Grundy goal on 40 minutes.
Against the run of play Wyre Villa equalised in first half extra time to make it 1-1.
Blackrod were back in the lead on 65 minutes. Mark Height volleyed in a lovely left wing cross from David Sutch.
Soon it was 3-1 to Blackrod. Mark Height pressurised a Wyre Villa defender and took the ball off him. He passed to Chris Tonge who scored unchallenged.
Blackrod then displayed the defensive lapses that have lost them so dearly this last month.
Mark Armstrong fouled their number 10 in the penalty area, pushing him over. They scored the penalty to make it 3-2. Then we weakly cleared another long ball. They knocked it back and we were short-handed in the penalty area 3-3.
Finally, we failed to clear a long throw in and they scored again! Blackrod lost 3-4 in a game which they appeared to be in total control of.
Blackrod Reserves lost 4-1 away at Tempest United, Blackrod played nervously on an uneven surface and Tempest took advantage of that. Andy Mobais scored for Blackrod.
