A RISE in gun crime has led police in South Manchester to relaunch a major crackdown on firearms.
Armed officers were deployed on routine street patrols for the first time last year as part of Operation Goodwood.
However, police have confirmed that officers with guns will return to the city to reassure the local community following a rise in armed crime.
