A THREE-week anti-litter blitz is giving Chorley a spring clean. Chorley Borough Council's clean-up team started work on Monday, and will be grime-busting until Saturday, April 19.
The team were on the Liptrot estate until today, and a large skip will be sited in Grasmere Terrace from 9am to 6pm this Saturday. The skip is for any kind of rubbish, furniture or DIY waste.
From Monday, April 7, to Friday, April 11, the Thornhill estate will be the spring clean target, with a skip outside 76 Northgate Drive on Saturday, April 12.
The Clayton Brook estate will receive the treatment from Monday, April 14 to Friday, April 18. A skip will be outside 148 Longacre, on both Saturday, April 12 and Saturday, April 19, funded by the North British Housing Association.
Anyone who cannot get to a free skip can use the existing collection service to remove bulky items. For details call 01257 515548. New wheelie bins can be obtained on the same number by quoting spring clean. For further information call the council's head of engineering and transportation Andy Goodfellow on 01257 515752.
