BURY born celebrity Suzanne Shaw, formerly of Hear'Say fame, will play Bobbi in a new stage adaptation of Summer Holiday at the Lowry in June.
Stefan Booth from Hollyoaks is Don, the character created in the 1963 film version by Cliff Richard. Christopher Biggins plays the agent Jerry, and Aimi MacDonald will be Bobbi's mother, Stella.
In a bid to escape the pressures of fame, pop star "Bobbi" disguises herself as a boy and boards a double-decker bus full of London holidaymakers.
Romance blossoms when Bobbi reveals her true identity and falls for bachelor boy, Don.
The show is full of feet-tapping hits, like In the Country, Summer Holiday, Bachelor Boy, Dancing Shoes, Livin' Doll, Move It and Do You Wanna Dance?
Suzanne Shaw was discovered by the original record-breaking television show, Popstars, and became a member of the winning band, Hear'Say. Their single Pure and Simple was the fastest selling number one single to have been made. The band recently announced its decision to split up.
Stefan Booth played the controversial part of Jamie Nash in Channel 4's Hollyoaks while Christopher Biggins is best known as the theatrical raconteur who has starred in comedy classics including Porridge and, recently, in TV's Bad Girls.
Aimi MacDonald is best known as the Sixties blonde bombshell with appearances in The Avengers and The Saint.
Summer Holiday runs from June 23 to 28.
