A HEALTH website run by a Bolton woman has picked up a prestigious award.
The NHS site -- www.nhs.uk
-- saw off stiff competition from the cream of the UK's web talent to be named bronze award winner in the best website category at the Business Communication Awards.
Celebrating the accolade, the programme manager, Bolton-born Judy Aldred, said: "This award is a great tribute to the team."
The website provides information about local NHS services, such as contact details for local GPs and dentists, plus national information about the NHS -- what it does, how it works, and how to use it.
The awards are run by the International Visual Communication Association. They were announced at a reception and dinner last week, hosted by television presenter Eamonn Holmes and assisted by news presenter Dermot Murghnahan and broadcaster Joan Bakewell, at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London.
