A CONFERENCE to help farmers plan ahead to cope with diseases such as Foot and Mouth was taking place in the region today.
Around 50 delegates were expected to take part in workshops at Barton Grange, in Lancashire.
discussing ideas for the Government's new Animal Health and Welfare Strategy.
Rob Paul, Directory of Veterinary Services of the Department for the Environment and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), said strategic planning is vital.
"By and large we have been driven by events around us," he added.
