BOLTON-based K2 Conservatory Roof Systems has acquired a specialist conservatory glass division.
Glass manufacturing specialist CCG Ltd at Blackburn has been absorbed within the rapidly expanding group as part of a longer-term strategic plan.
The deal has led to the launch of a new company -- K2 Glass Ltd -- which could lead to extra jobs in Bolton and Blackburn. It coincides with the introduction of Celsius, a revolutionary new glass product designed specifically for conservatory roofs.
Sally Fielding, K2 Conservatory Roof System's managing director, said: "Since launching K2 Conservatory Roof Systems on to a global platform the success1of the business has been outstanding, providing long term security for existing employees and opportunities for new employees.
"The recent launch of K2 Glass Ltd will further enhance the success of the business and will create employment opportunities for local communities within the Bolton and Blackburn region."
The Royal Bank of Scotland helped broker the deal and continues to support the parent company, The Burnden Group plc.
