I HAD the misfortune last Friday of finding out why people fly-tip! I could never understand, when there is a tip at Raikes Lane, why such lazy individuals existed!
Off I went with my husband to said tip. What a shambles. We sat in a long queue for ages. People ambled backwards and forwards unloading their vehicles, chatting and cleaning out their boots afterwards. One man even parked on the left-hand side of the line of cars, blocking anyone from going on to empty spaces further ahead, also stopping anyone trying to "escape" the queue! Not a person of authority in sight to sort out this sad state of affairs.
Could someone not be employed to make sure the traffic is guided to empty spaces? I shall certainly have a new outlook on rubbish dumped around our town after the half-hour I spent trying to be a good citizen!
