AN exhibition featuring the history of the Co-operative movement in Bolton is on show at Smithills Hall.
The six-month exhibition, sponsored by United Co-operative Society, includes documents, newspaper cuttings and photographs dating back almost 150 years, as well as a range of Co-op pottery.
The history of the movement in Bolton features strongly, with photographs of buildings, some early Co-op managers resplendent in their bowler hats and stiff collars, and different forms of Co-op transport.
There will be a series of lectures and film shows to run alongside the exhibition in the summer months.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm, and on Sundays from 2pm to 5pm. Admission costs £3, concessions £1.75, under-sevens free and it is free for Co-op employees with a discount card.
