A LATE strike from Steve Orrell salvaged a point for Prestwich Heys in the Air Miles Manchester League.
The goal secured a 1-1 draw with Leigh Athletic, who had opened the scoring on the half-hour with a Steve Bevin goal.
Elton Vale put their recent disappointing form behind them with a fine 3-1 over Stockport Georgians, the defeat leaving the reigning Champions needing to win all their remaining fixtures to stand any chance of retaining their crown.
The visitors did take the lead early on through Scott Walsh, but Elton battled back to take the points courtesy of strikes from Anthony Doran, Dave Wilkes and Derek Watson.
Atherton Town, who could yet claim the title themselves with a late run, edged past Willows 1-0 at Howe Bridge, Danny Christie netting his 18th of the campaign to give his side the points.
Breightmet United cemented their place as First Division Championship favourites with a 3-1 home win over Hindsford AFC.
The visitors still harboured hopes of their own but goals from Gary Goodinson and John Lee, plus an own goal, bettered an effort from Dave Fashou for the Tonics.
United now need only one win to seal a top two berth, and two wins would see the First Division crown go to Moss Park.
