NEWLY formed White Lion AC from Westhoughton visited Queens Lodge at Bickershaw to fish in the Walter Foreshaw sponsored aggregate match, their first of the season.
Ian Calderbank, using long pole tactics, got amongst the water's carp to record a win with a weight of 6lbs 13ozs. John Horton used similar methods and came second with 3lbs 12ozs, third was Dave McMinn with 2lbs 9ozs.
Anglers needed at least 100lbs to win this weekend on Bradshaw Hall Fisheries Number Four Lake.
With the ever growing carp starting to show an interest the coming warmer months hold much promise of some arm aching action.
Mick Shaw started the ball rolling with a win for 135lbs 8ozs in the Saturday Open. Second was Paul Smith on 61lbs and third was Pete Cunliffe with 28lbs.
Sunday's Bradshaw Bonanza saw home-based Bradshaw angler Ian Johnson win with a return of 119lbs 14ozs. Second was Tommy Pennington of TriCast Highfield with 49lbs 6ozs and third was team-mate Wally Pennington on 45lbs 40zs.
