DUNSCAR Golf Club began the new season with an opening day medal success for Neil Wharmby and David Sheldon.
Their whose 59 was four better than runners-up father and son Alan and Simon Whittam.
Jim Callaghan and David Torkington took third spot on a card play-off from four other pairs.
Andy Smith stole the show in the opening day mixed greensome when he landed a hole in one at the 16th. However, his efforts, along with Mrs C Smith, were only good enough for 36pts and joint fourth spot behind winners B Edwards and Mrs K Hilton who scored 40 points.
Second was G Goldkiss and Mrs V Dean with 39pts and third went to G Moorhouse and Mrs B Moorhouse with 38pts.
