AFTER early pressure Rangers were awarded a penalty and Carl Parker duly obliging for a two point lead.
Some poor Rangers defence saw Shaw in for a try to take the lead.
Rangers came back and a neat chip to the corner was snapped up by wingman Paul Dootson to score, goaled by Parker.
Just before the break Shaw crashed through some bad tackling to score a try and goal, to go in at the break 10-8 in front.
In the second half Rangers' poor finishing and dropped balls spoiled some good attacks. Shaw then broke through to score to extend their lead.Parker goaled to bring Rangers closer with Shaw reduced to kicking high balls up field, all well held by Stuart Anwyl to race back for another attack. Lee Beresford moved over to the left to take a good pass and race in, with a goal taking Rangers out to 20 points. Parker then slotted over a drop goal to put Rangers in front. But they gave away some silly penalties, and this put Shaw nearer to Rangers line this caused a bit of panic and from a scrum Shaw shot through a back peddling defence to score but the conversion was missed and Rangers won by the narrowest of margins.
Lee Beresford was man-of-the-match, closely followed by forwards John Barker and John Cookson.
