MEMBERS of the British Medical Association have expressed their "dismay" that tax on cigarettes was increased in line with inflation in this week's Budget announcement.
BMA chairman, Dr Ian Bogle, said: "Every year 120,000 people die from tobacco-related illness and the BMA had hoped to see a higher taxation increase on all tobacco products in order to prevent young people smoking and to help smokers quit."
