HINDUS will be celebrating a festival in style thanks to authentic and stunning centrepieces created in Bolton.
The works of art will be a focus of Ramnomvi Hindu celebrations not only in Bolton but also in Delhi, London and Chicago.
Nautic Engineering Company on Carlton Street, Bolton, created an exquisite gold-plated hand-made Indian crib for the focal point of the six-day Ramnomvi festival, beginning today in Bolton, which celebrates the birth of Hindu Gods, Lord Ran and Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
Word of the company's craftsmanship quickly spread far and wide -- and the firm was approached by a priest in India and temple representatives from the Swaminarayan Temple in Chicago and the Neasden Temple in London. All wanted a crib, too.
Company bosses Taz Patel and Val Patel said they were amazed when the foremost priest from the Delhi Swaminarayan Temple contacted them, requesting the crib be shipped over.
Taz Patel said: "We were really chuffed to be given such an honour. We take pride in making these pieces, they are Val's own design and each one is unique. We are fine tuning them all the time. We feel it is an achievement for Bolton engineering as well as ourselves."
The cribs are made from a combination of silver and brass with 24-carat gold plating, each with their own intricate design.
