FIRE crews battled for four hours to put out a grass fire in Belmont. A discarded cigarette is believed to have caused the blaze, which started near to the Tockholes Road/Belmont junction at 2.15pm yesterday. Miles of grassland throughout Edgworth, Blacksnape and Belmont have been swept by fire in the last two weeks.
