THE case of a man who admitted making hoax 999 calls to the emergency services during a national fire strike was adjourned yesterday for further reports.
John Robert Byron, aged 19, of Lenham Gardens, Breightmet, has also admitted animal cruelty. He pleaded guilty to strangling his pet cat Tom last October at his former home in Garstang Avenue, Breightmet.
Byron has admitted making calls to the fire service from a phone box in Breightmet last November.
Bolton Magistrates Court was told that he suffers from learning difficulties.
The case was adjourned until Thursday, May 22, for more psychiatric reports. Byron was released on conditional bail to a hostel in Eccles.
