A SCHOOL full of Harry Potters, Cinderellas and various other nursery rhyme and fairytale characters were taught by Three Blind Mice and Aladdin.
The fancy dress event was the grand finale for pupils at Walmsley CE School, who have been fundraising throughout Lent.
Staff and pupils at the Blackburn Road school in Egerton donated 50p each to take part in the end of term fun yesterday.
All the money raised will be added to that raised from the juniors' Easter Concerts this week and money raised from weekly non-uniform days over the past six weeks.
Headteacher, Pat Ashton said: "Every year we raise money for two charities, this year we chose Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley and Dr Barnado's. The children have had a great time, each week we've had themed non-uniform days -- like wearing denim or sunglasses. There was a really excited atmosphere. Even some of the the staff have dressed up as the Three Blind Mice and Aladdin."
The school aims to give each of their chosen charities £1,000.
Other schools ending the spring term with Easter fun included Queensbridge CP School in Farnworth, whose nursery and reception class performed an Easter play for parents.
Westhoughton Parochial School held an Easter egg raffle in which more than 50 chocolate eggs were won by pupils, with money raised going towards school funds.
