I WRITE in response to the letter from Mrs Jackie Webb, about the tip at Raikes Lane.

I too have encountered problems there.

Mrs Webb should try the rubbish disposal/recycling point at Union Road (The Valley), which, incidentally, is probably nearer to her home in Harwood than Raikes Lane.

This is well organised, rubbish and recyclable items of every kind can rapidly be disposed of in their respective containers. You can be in and out very quickly, and an attendant is regularly keeping the site free from dangerous pieces of litter.

Having got it right at Union Road, why can't the council do the same at Raikes Lane?
