THE proposed residential development of Deakins business park should be of concern to all residents of north Bolton.
Because Blackburn Road is already at capacity at rush hours, the addition of yet more traffic will make a bad situation worse.
Even at a conservative estimate, between 100 and 200 cars will be entering the traffic at The Hall Coppice (at rush hour) and returning every evening.
No doubt the initial development of 128 apartments is just the "thin end of the wedge". If this development is allowed to go ahead, it will have a catastrophic effect on the infrastructure or Egerton and Bromley Cross. This includes schools and medical facilities.
I urge residents of Egerton and Bromley Cross to write to the Environment Department, Bolton Town Hall, Bolton, ref Application No 63189/02, attention Paul Hatch, before April 17, 2003. There is not much time left. Get involved or this will affect you in the worst way.
