IT is most worrying to read in the Bolton Evening News (April 5) that the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth has the highest patient death rate in the North west.
An independent audit has placed this hospital firmly at the bottom of the regional league for patient deaths.
How is it that the Government keeps telling us that they are putting more and more money into the Health Service, and yet its performance is failing.
Dr Brian Iddon is the Member of Parliament for Farnworth and area, and I am sure the people of Bolton would like to know what he is doing about this serious problem.
Bolton South East, which is Dr Iddon's area, also suffers badly in the league tables for schools. Year after year our primary schools trail at the bottom end of the league tables, with no or very little improvement, and yet Dr Iddon and his Government keep telling us they are putting more and more money into education.
Farnworth is regularly said to be one of the most deprived areas of the country, with a high crime rate, and yet the Government keeps saying they have invested more money and put more police on to the streets.
