THE success of the junior bowling section at Kearsley Park Veterans Bowling Club rolls on.
Last summer, the 76 year-old club, which had been plagued by vandalism, recruited local youngsters to the greens.
Aided by a Lottery grant, special junior bowls to develop their play were bought and the children, some as young as eight, quickly took to the sport.
Now the club has been given a grant of £425 from Bolton CVS to help the youngsters as the new season gets under way. About 25 boys and girls are involved.
Tomorrow, from 2pm to 4pm, there is a free, open practice for the juniors -- when mums, dads and grandparents are also welcome.
