IN reply to Mr Johnston's letter.

He has missed the point of my letter on the benefits of multiculturism to this country, by a country mile.

If he thinks that a Nigerian lad playing for the Wanderers, or shops opening during Christian festivals, actually benefits British culture (which was the point of my letter), then I feel sorry for him. If he is comparing this with a culture that has given its language to the world, it has also given them Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Keats, even The Beatles; a culture that fought at Agincourt, Trafalgar and Waterloo. To compare this with eating a few foreign meals is beyond contempt.
