IN reply to Mr Ibrahim's letter, I would like to state that nowhere in my previous letter did I imply that any Muslim person is a hypocrite.
I did quote "Hippocrates", an ancient Greek physician who acquired such widespread fame that he has been called the Father of Medicine (perhaps that is where the confusion occurred).
I would agree with Mr Ibrahim on his very important points ...
1. That all faiths should be respected and not offended ...
2. That the way that food animals are slaughtered everywhere is cruel and that animals suffer terribly (if they had to witness the terror and screams of these poor creatures, most people would never want to eat meat again). Also the killing of these animals is only the last atrocity that they have to suffer throughout their short, tragic lives.
If people really love animals and want to help stop all these barbaric practices, then they should look to their consciences and stop eating meat. Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment.
