In the second half Hindley continued to press for the winner but Hindsford went through when Critchley scored the winner.

HOWE Bridge pressed from the kick off but failed to put a shot on goal. This allowed Ashton to take control with goals from Casey, Lightfoot, Tarpy and Nealey.

BARBER put Astley into the lead but Collieries, fielding their second team, equalised through Rowcroft.
The match then went to penalties but Dearden proved to be the matchwinners as he followed his impressive performance during the game with two fine penalty saves.
The draw for the second round is: Atherton Town v Leigh Athletic, Astley v Hindley Town, Blackrod v Breightmet.
