I THINK it's outrageous that so much time and ratepayers' money has been wasted on the junction of Blackhorse Street to Hill Lane and Chorley Brow.
It is a dangerous junction now -- like all the other junctions in Blackrod. All it required was the road centre line repositioning, or a simple "Polo mint" roundabout. Now we have greatly extended pavements at that junction. So much so that drivers coming out of Hill Lane, especially at night, can mistake the footpath for the road when turning left for Adlington. So now it will be necessary to put safety railings, or an extra reflective warning post, on the left.
In all the time I have driven in Blackrod since 1977, as a professional driver, I know of no vehicle crashes at that junction -- yet a driver has ripped his drive shaft out of his car since it was altered!
