I WRITE again concerning the situation at Moses Gate Railway Station, and the continuing silence from Mr Barker (First North West) and our local councillors and MP.
Neither of my two letters in the Bolton Evening News have been answered by Mr Barker, and I will now let readers make up their own mind what this means, concerning the rumours that Moses Gate/Farnworth/Kearsley stations are to close to allow a Bolton to Salford Crescent Rail Expressway.
There must be a reason why Moses Gate, with a massive local population, on a major road junction, surrounded by dozens of works/factories/shops/pubs/guest houses/hotels, and next to the popular Moses Gate County Park, gets a skeleton service, and yet country stations/stations with few people get half hourly airport/evening/Sunday services, unlike Moses Gate.
I must ask the question "Am I missing something here?" And could any Bolton Evening News readers please write in and enlighten me as to why this is.
Mr P D Bennett
Bolton
