A FOUR man team from the Horwich Cycling Club competed in the gruelling Paris-Roubaix VTT mountain bike race.
The event was over four stages with a total distance of 157km, riding over the infamous cobbled roads and tracks of northern France.
Over 400 competitors took part including national and world champions. The racing was extremely fast and watched by large crowds.
The Horwich results were Mark Leyland 132, Denis Keaskin 154, Dave Leyland 169, Dave Headon 253.
Clare and Sophie Gore both won their respective races in the BSCA North East/Yorks TT Championships, following their secnd places in the Thursday night Preston Arena series.
