A BURY MP believes that pollution will be reduced if a new Bill becomes law.
David Chaytor, MP for Bury North, is backing a proposal designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
The Bill has moved one step closer to becoming law after being given a second reading in Parliament. Mr Chaytor said: "The Government has rightly set itself some tough targets to encourage renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions in its Energy White Paper."
This Bill will help us achieve these targets."
The proposal is also designed to encourage the generating of electricity from renewable resources and the improvement of domestic energy efficiency.
"I support the various targets set by this bill", said Mr Chaytor. "The sooner it becomes law the better."
