A RESIDENTS group has secured funding to buy equipment for children in their community.
The Nixon Triangle Residents at Daubhill Association has been given £500 from the Area Forum, and £2,000 from Funding Our Future for the Children. The cash will buy computers and toys for a playgroup and pay for outings for youngsters.
The recently formed association takes in Nixon Road, Milson Ave, St. Helens Road, Woodbine Road, Hooton St, Southend St, Henry Lee St, and Morris Green Lane, Daubhill. It has also secured land in Nixon Street for a community garden.
Treasurer Neil Zeller said: "We are delighted. We are putting the community spirit back into the area. Everyone is working together."
The residents plan a launch party in the summer.
