FEMALES in the Bolton area are being asked to support the Race for Life event at Leverhulme Park on Sunday, June 22.
It's part of a national chain of races over 5km (3.1 miles), organised by Cancer Research UK.
After 10 years, the Race For Life is coming to Bolton for the first time because so many local women were already taking part annually.
This newspaper is joining the Tesco store at Horwich in backing the event, and there will be a team of runners both from Tesco and from the Bolton Evening News.
I'll be joining my younger and much fitter colleagues in ambling round the course, in memory of my dad.
Everyone will have her own reason for running in this high profile event, but the end result will be a large donation to fund more research into finding a cure for cancer. Please join me.
