I AM writing to ask for your readers' help with a national campaign to make the UK more family-friendly.
During these Easter holidays, many families in your area may wish that life was that bit easier for them -- perhaps that public transport was accessible with a pushchair or wheelchair, that leisure facilities were not so expensive, that shops were negotiable with two small children in tow, or perhaps simply that they felt more welcome in their own town.
The National Family and Parenting Institute is launching a 10-year family-friendly campaign to make the UK an even better place in which to raise a family. We want to make sure that we are addressing the issues that matter to parents, grandparents, carers and children, and we would like to hear from as many people as possible about what family-friendly means to them.
We are compiling a list of the best -- and the worst -- examples of family-friendly places, services, products and ideas, and hope that your readers will share their experiences with us. Their views will count -- not only will they influence the way we develop this important campaign, but they will also be highlighted in a new research report to be launched during the fourth national Parents Week, October 20-26.
Anyone wishing to have their say can e-mail us on info@nfpi.org or write to us at the Family Friendly Campaign, National Family and Parenting Institute, FREEPOST LON12668, London NW5 2YR.
