AFTER an outstanding indoor season, two Horwich RMI Harrier girls were rewarded when they competed for the Greater Manchester County U13s team in the National Sports Hall Championships at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena.

Lucy Hindley won a bronze medal in the four lap final and a silver medal with the two lap relay squad, while Alyce Eccles maintained her excellent standing long jump form and ran a strong second leg in the obstacle relay.

Matthew Booth had triple success in the Cheshire League Meeting held at Blackley & North Manchester AC, winning the U11s 75m (11.4), 600m (1.58.7) and Long Jump (3.74m).

Audrey Foster and Paul Muller were both medalists in the British Masters Athletic Federation Cross-Country Championships held in Irvine, Scotland last Saturday.

Colin Rigby was the club's star performer in last Sunday's Flora London Marathon, coming a superb 93rd (2.36.02) out of well over 30,000 finishers.

Tony Hesketh was the next Harrier to finish in a time of 3.11.43.

The Horwich ladies won last Sunday's Bolton 10K road race team event. Karen Hutchinson (1st L35) led them home in 43rd (39.25).

Rob Jackson won the Joe Salt 70th Birthday 5 Mile Road and Trail Race at Littleborough in a time of 27.10.
