A MAN who says Lancashire hillwalking gave him a taste for adventure is retracing one of the most disastrous Arctic expeditions in history.
Martin Hartley, aged 35, an award-winning expedition photographer from Crumpsall, Manchester, left for the Arctic with seven other explorers.
His team plane to trace the steps of Sir John Francis who set off in 1845 to discover the North West Passage.
Sir John's expedition became stranded and he and 128 others never returned.
