IN the latest qualifiers for next month's UK Open Darts Championship finals, to be held at The Reebok Stadium, Wayne Merrick took another first place.
Phil Chadwick, who threw excellently to reach the final, could not keep the scores up as Merrick powered to victory.
Gary Parr narrowly missed out to Chadwick in the semi-finals, while Merrick's place came at the expense of Billy Lee.
Sunday saw Merrick again winning a very close and highly scoring game over Craig Daniels.
Wayne won the first semi-final against a consistent Dave Higgin, while Craig showed some excellent darts to beat Bolton's Paul Williams.
Best lady prize was shared between Pat Miller and Jean Burns.
The darts knockout is held every Friday and Sunday, all welcome £1 entry. Prize money for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and best lady, also an extra £25 in total a month the monthly awards for most 180's, highest finish and ladies most 133's and over
